Rail
Eurostar and TGV
There are high speed train services to the Alps at any time of year using a combination of Eurostar to Paris and TGV from Paris to the Alps.
Eurostar departs from London St Pancras station, Ebbsfleet International by the A2/M25 junction or Ashford off the M20 in Kent. Journey time to Paris Gard du Nord is under 3 hours.
From Paris Gard du Lyon there are TGV services direct to Annecy, Chambery, Geneva and Grenoble at any time of year, all with a journey time well between 3 and 4 hours.
At weekend in the summer and the ski season the TGV also continues to stations near the resorts. Look at the resorts pages to find the nearest stations. At other times of the year a change to a local train is required.
If you prefer an overnight sleeper train then the Corail 'Lunea' leaves from Paris Gare d’Austerlitz.
Eurostar, TGV and local trains can be booked on line with either Rail Europe or Eurostar. When using the website you seem to get a better choice of trains by selecting the leg from Paris separately and then finding a London – Paris service to fit.

Eurostar Ski Train
In the ski season Eurostar run two direct services from London St Pancras and Ashford to Moutier, Aimes La Plange and Bourg St Maurice.
There is an over night train leaving St Pancras at 20:31 on Friday evening arriving at Bourg St Maurice at 06:27 on Saturday morning (journey time 10 hrs 15 mn)
Alternatively the service on Saturday morning leaves at 1000 and arrives at 1820 (journey time 7 hrs 20 mn).
The return services leave Bourg either Saturday morning getting into London late afternoon or late Saturday evening getting in to London early Sunday morning.
If you are going to Three Valleys or the Tarantaise resorts and have easy access to London or Ashford this has to be the easiest way to travel, straight to a station at the bottom of the hill below your resort.
Book on line direct with Eurostar or Rail Europe.
Eurostar Car Parking
Obviously parking in central London while you are away is not sensible however there are large car parks at both Ashford and Ebbsfleet stations. The cost is currently £69 per week. If you have booked Business Premier then this includes free parking at Ashford and 4 days free parking at Ebbsfleet.
Snow Train - CANCELLED FOR THE 2009-2010 SEASON
Due to the economic conditions the overnight sleeper/disco service will not be running for the 09-10 ski season
