For some routes we show an alternative using a few kilometers of N roads as well as the autoroute. This shortens the distance and cuts out the more congested autoroute sections.

There are excellent bus services available in the season to all the resorts excepting Les Deux Alpes and Alpe D’Huez. Booking can be made on line with Altibus (watch for the switch to American date format mm/dd/yyyy when selecting English language!).

The ‘shared transport’ is an excellent compromise between a private taxi and the bus service. You book and pay for your seat(s) on the mini bus, which is shared with other people arriving at similar times to yourself and travelling to the same resort. Quite a few companies now offer the service but ATS (Airport Transfer Service) and Transfer Intelligence are amongst the better known.

If you are travelling in a small group then it is worth investigating a taxi or private hire mini bus. The resort pages all include contact details for local taxi companies, ATS (Airport Transfer Service) and Transfer Intelligence can also provide private hire.
