Flights
- To find routes and airlines please see our flight finder page. For a map and satellite view see the Location Map. Detailed driving directions to the resort from the airports are in the 'Driving to' section below.
- Geneva
- Geneva at 58 miles (94 kms) is the closest airport with excellent autoroute links. It is a major international airport so there are plenty of flights to choose from all parts of the UK and ROI.
- Chambery
- Chambery at 86 miles (139 kms) is also convenient. It is well served in the ski season from most regions of the UK. However due to its position at the end of the Lac du Bourget the airport can be more affected by bad weather than the alternatives so a last minute change of destination is more likely.
- Lyon
- Lyon at 133 miles (214 kms) is a large, modern 'hub' airport. Although well served from the eastern side of the UK not many options are available for skiers from the west and south west.
- Grenoble
- Grenoble located half way between Lyon and Grenoble at a distance of 136 miles (219 kms) is the furthest airport. Direct flights are possible from most regions of the UK in the season. Of special interest to skiers from Cornwall and Devon are flights from Newquay and Plymouth.
Rail
At weekend in the ski season and in the summer months there is a direct TGV service from Paris to Saint Gervais-les-Bains (Le Fayet) in the valley below Les Houches. At other times a change to a local train is required. From Le Fayet a local service runs to the railway station in Les Houches. The journey time to Le Fayet is 5hrs and the local train takes a further 23 minutes.
The overnight sleeper service the 'Lunea' is a viable option on this route, leaving Paris at 11pm and arriving at St Gervais the following morning around 9am.
Bookings for all services can be made with either Rail Europe or Eurostar. For full details of travelling by train see the Travel - Rail page. For a map and satellite view of the train and bus stations see the Location Map
