Les Gets has two main ski areas with 120 km of pistes, Secteur Mont Chery and Secteur Chavannes, from both it is possible to ski back to the village. Les Gets is located the opposite side of Morzine from Avoriaz so it is quite a trek to access the rest of the Portes du Soleil.
The nursery slopes are located by the village and also up at the Chavannes mid station. The children’s Grand Cry area can also be found here, this is based on an Indian village with teepees, totem poles and a mini boarder cross course. Just down the hill, on the Gentiane piste, is the Mauve Milka slope for children with various obstacles to ski round, these double up as an educational introduction to the Alpine environment.
For intermediates there are plenty of blues and reds with some good runs off Mont Chery and Le Ranfoilly, add this to the Morzine ski area and the rest of the Portes du Soleil then you have a huge choice. Black runs can be found off Mont Chery and Point de la Turche with some good off piste and tree skiing, perfect for the bad weather days. There are also two "family off piste routes", Les Maisons Larges (off the top of the Ranfolly Chair) and Les Cretes du Chery (from the top of Mont Chery). These are suitable for intermediate level skiers but are off piste and require a knowledge of the route so a guide is recommended.
Freestylers will find the snowpark on Mont Chery, this has the Freestyle district which has a big air, hip and hand rails etc, and the Jib district with hand rails and table top. There is a beginners boardercross course on the Chavannes slopes which is fed by the Mouille au Roi draglift.
For cross country skiers there are 18 km of trails on Mont Chery and Chavannes, plus there is easy access to the extensive 95 kms of trails around Morzine.
